Dog Days of May

Hey everybody, I am back from my mini-vacation and I've got a new cohort in crime. Meet Mia, my new 2 month old Siberian Husky pup. She's a good dog; really smart and playful. She's got a mind of her own and is sometimes a challenge, but that's why Huskies are such great dogs. Here she is, about to poop probably:

In honor of my newest addition, I decided I would post some of my favorite dog songs. Check out these two dog songs, although they don't necessarily speak about dogs directly:

Uncle Tupelo -- I Wanna Be Your Dog (Longview Farm Acoustic) [The Stooges cover] from March 16-20, 1992 Reissued
Slobberbone -- Gimme Back My Dog from Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today

Give me some other great dog songs to listen to, fellow comrades.

BK

Let me make sure I get the first "you sucks!" As a 3rd party observer who witnessed the lead-up to dog ownership, I must say that it was inevitable. I compare the look in your eyes to that of a 26-32 year old woman who just saw a baby. At that point, there is no possible argument to changer her mind. Guess who's coming to dinner in nine months?

I'm never sure what to say to people who insist on showing you pictures of their kids or their pets (this case doesn't count as any and all content is allowed/expected). Maybe it's because I don't have either. Congratulations? He/she is sooooooo cute!? That's a helluva bitch? Please select one of the above as my official congratulatory statement.

Getting back to the music theme, I won't recommend Who let the dogs out (it was me), but I will throw in I wanna be your dog by The Stooges.

Nice pup.....let's see, off the top of my head I've got Atomic Dog by George Clinton, anything by Three Dog Night, Been Caught Stealing by Jane's Addiction has a dog barking throughout basically the entire song....um, Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell were once in a band called Temple of the Dog. That's all i got for now.

Definitely Atomic Dog (excellent choice Ryan), perhaps some Snoop Dog or Poi Dog Pondering... Not many other songs about pups come to mind.

Hey Gerdon nice call on the Poi Dog Pondering. What do you know of this band? I absolutely love them. Anyway I'll go with a couple Ramblin' Jack Elliot tunes: "Old Blue" and "My old Dog and Me." Two short but excellent songs about dogs. I can't think of a Poi Dog Pondering song about a dog. But they did write a song about the shirt that you wore.
