Well, now that the new year is here, its about time I posted my Top 5. Here are a few things I firmly resolve to do in the new year:
1) Marvin Gaye - Keep Gettin' It On: The precursor, "Let's Get It On" might have been an obvious choice for this Top 5, but I'm taking it a step further. Let's face it, I've been getting on with it for years. So, I intend to keep on doin what I do best.
2) Cast Iron Filter - Brand New Pants: I need to buy some new pants. The one's I'm currently wearing are starting to get a little funk to them.
3) Bob Marley - Keep On Moving: 2008 holds another move for me, this time from coast to coast.
4) Pink Floyd - Have a Cigar: Maybe this year I'll be able to enjoy a few fine cigars. All I need is the occasion.
5) The Tennors - Ride Your Donkey: No explanation needed.
1. Dropkick Murphys- Shipping Up to Boston- Aren and I are moving to Boston in 2008!
2. The Offspring- Why Don’t You Get a Job?- I need to get one of these to be able to survive in Boston.
3. The Eagles- Take it Easy- Taking a month off this summer to take it easy.
4. Pink Floyd- Money- I am hoping to come upon some of this in 2008.
5. Cyndi Lauper- Girls Just Want to Have Fun- Enough said!
Here are some resolutions for ya.
1. Belle & Sebastian -- To Be Myself Completely :: No comprising is a good idea. Better get used to having less friends and more enemies. DOh!
2. Big Star -- Watch The Sunrise :: Another good idea - slow down and enjoy some of the more subtle things in life.
3. Sharon Jones & The Dap KIngs -- Humble Me :: Always nice to have some humble pie every once and a while.
4. Cat Power -- Sea of Love :: Although a cover, I love her version. I reckon it's time I try to jump back into its freezing cold waters.
5. Hayes Carll -- Naked Checkers :: Sounds like a good idea, wouldn't ya say?
